Pain
or a feeling
of tightness,
especially
when smiling,
opening your mouth,
or chewing,
is also common
during the first
few days
and usually
improves
within
1–2 weeks.
How to Care
for Yourself

Apply a cold compress
during the first
24–48 hours.
Avoid
facial massage,
pressing
firmly on the face,
or opening
your mouth
too wide
during the
early recovery period.
Avoid
strenuous exercise
and alcohol
for about
1 week.
Take all medications
as prescribed
by your doctor
and attend
your follow-up
appointments.
When Should You
See a Doctor?
Although
swelling,
bruising,
and pain
are normal,
you should
contact your doctor
immediately
if you experience
severe pain,
pain that
continues to worsen,
significant redness,
heat,
or pus,
a fever,
or facial asymmetry
or any other
concerning symptoms.
In general,
when a thread lift
is performed
by an experienced
doctor
and you follow
the recommended
aftercare,
the swelling,
bruising,
and discomfort
will gradually
improve,
and your lifting
results
will become
more noticeable
as the swelling
subsides.
